SG, I think it was Mac that called earlier this year and reported that they were producing a run of .357mag barrels.....and recently it was reported they still had some.....they also found some 30-06 UltraComp barrels which Mac, I, MSP and a few other took em up on, they still might have some of those left. The 7.62x39 and 500S&W are gonna be out sometime in the next few months....204 Ruger is already available.....

Per Cookieman they also located some 24" Tracker I rifle sighted smoothbore 12 and 20 gauge barrels. I had then add a 20 gauge to my reciever while they were fitting it with the 30-06 Ultra Comp barrel and they did a trigger job while it was there, It's done now and on it's way home!!....<><....

They receiced my rifle last Thursday.  They did a warranty repair, trigger job, and fitted a .44 Mag barrel.  I got a call yesterday for credit card numbers, so I'll have it soon.  They must have less work this time of year.

John in customer service says they have about 230 people working there.  I hope they all stay working.

i wouldn't mind one of those godless communist 7.62x39 cartridge barrels. that's a pretty respectable cast bullet cartridge.

i see a phone call to H&R in my future on monday !

anyone have a spare SB-2 they want to get rid of ???

tnx !

So here's the story on my frame.....

Sent in Feb 15th for 20 ga Ultra Slug, 50 ML and a couple of smoothbores.  I checked in a couple of weeks ago and was told the 20 ga Ultra Slug was the hold-up.  CS said that the barrels were a week to ten days away at that point.

I called again this past Tuesday and was advised that the barrels were in stock and my frame was in the fitting queue.  My bank account was charged on Thursday, the 14th, so I expect it'll be back in my hands by mid-week, about eight and a half weeks.  Its all about which barrels are in inventory.

Finally.... almost.

I am dyin' here tonight!  I got home from a morning meeting to be greeted by a UPS sticker on the front door.  There it was.  Proof that one of those brown trucks had sat in my driveway with the box so long awaited.  Proof that one of those guys in the funny brown outfits had stood at my door with what I have longed for these last 9 weeks.  My Handi was back.  Here. On my porch.  And I still don't have it!!!

I sat down right away and posted a hold for pick-up order so I can be assured that I won't miss them again.  I'll have that box in my hands not more than twenty minutes after I drop my kid at school in the morning.

What, you ask, could twist a man this way.....

It started life as a 204 Ruger, shot once (for a 5/8" best group of the day), and packed for shipping to have 20 ga Ultra Slug, 50 cal ML and a couple of smooth bores fitted.  I am desperate to get at working out the best loading for the MI and OH deer seasons this fall.

I'll keep you all posted as this develops.

Dang, ya shoulda called H&R and asked for the tracking number, then all ya had to do was plug that number into the UPS tracking web site and you'd know when it would arrive! Shame, shame, shame...... Mine will be here Friday, they didn't ship it until last Friday, but my card was charged a week ago yesterday, their shipping dept must be backlogged.

They're here!!!!

I unpacked them this morning and they look great!  CS shipped it back with the 50 cal ML barrel mounted.  I went for stainless even though I have a blued frame.  Its looks really good.  I love those Firesights, but I'm a lousy iron sight shooter so it'll still get a scope.  I didn't realize it, but the 20 ga Ultra slug also comes with a specific forearm.  I checked the fit against the barrel it it looks good but I haven't swapped all the barrels on and off the frame to confirm lock-up and such.  I'll be holed up in the gun room after the family hits the hay tonight doing all that stuff.

Now to clear a hole in the schedule and get some range time!!!!
