NEF .22/.410 Versa Pack
« on: April 16, 2005, 08:12:29 AM »
Have anybody bought this combo, and is it a good buy for kids, which it is made for? I have a 5 year old, and after the BB Gun mode, I want to venture into the .22/.410 range. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks-Jack.

I would like to know if you can put a scope on the 22 and if you can add extra barrels...

If you use the search feature, you'll get your answer....you can't use other rimfire barrels on it due to the offset bore on the 22Lr barrel, but I don't recall whether or not other shotgun barrels can be fitted to it or not.

Hey quick,

You mentioned that the combo pack has an offset barrel for the .22.  Could this barrel be used on an SB2 centerfire barrel?

I'd love to the rimfire calibers to an SB2 frame.

I'm guessing it could, but I don't think H&R will fit one, you'd probably have to buy one used and that would be tough to do, no one would want to split the combo up....you might email H&R and ask em...

Here's a link to a discussion about the Versa Pack that took place back in December. I had just purchased one and had some info about it.

For what it's worth, I sold it last month without having fired it. I think if I could have found (or they made one with) a 20 ga barrel I would have kept it for myself, but...

My son likes his Youth Sportster (lighter), and his Youth Henry lever gun.

Wow!! Never fired it. The plastic sight isn`t cool, and the sighting issue is like that on my Sidekick, you can`t see the rear site, if the hammer is down, to me that is kind of a bad design, especially when I use open sights!! Thanks-Jack.

I got mine today mainly for a rimfire rifle with sights.  I really like the looks of mine.  It seems plenty accurate enough with CBs.  Awesome trigger.  The sighting issue is common across the NEF/H&R line whether sights or beads, no?  Plastic is a fact of life on the NEF/H&Rs, but it's not like they are high dollar.

I haven't tried the shotgun bbl yet.
