Need opinions on this gun I'm very seriously thinking about getting one.
Will be using it as a target gun only.

Kimber makes fine guns and the Gold Match is no exception. I do think, however, when you start talking about 1100 dollar guns I would save another 3-400 and buy a Les Baer or STI.

I have two Kimber Stainless Gold Matches (Series I not Series II). Both shoot a 1" group at 25 yards from a ransom rest. Neither has given me one bit of trouble. One a bought new for $1100, the other I purchased used for about $950, and it had the magwell, and front strap checkering. I think they are great guns, but I don't buy new anymore. There are too many good deals out there if you keep your eye out for them.

Could not have said it better. How many times have we walked into a gun shop and seen a gun that only has about 100 rounds though it, because the guy that bought it first hated it. Well, at that point you are getting a new gun at a used price. All you need is good set of eyes to know if it is junk or good. But, most of us no what to look for.

As far as the Kimber, I have never shot that one. I do own a TLE and a TLE RL. Those are the only Kimbers I own, but I like them a hole bunch. You really cant go wrong with Kimber.

my buddy sent his to me to compare it to my Colt and i have to say its a sweet gun. Its tighter then my Colt gold cup trophy shoots just as well but its a little fussier about what ammo you can run through it. But other then wadcutters it has ran flawlously. Dont be afraid to buy it there a sweet gun.

I have two Kimber Custom Shop CDP's and they will both shoot rings around my Colt Gold Cup. They have never failed to feed and are both very accurate. Can't say the same thing for my gold cup. Kimber's QC is second to none. You'll like it.

I've had mine for about five years. It is an excellent gun, and I use it for target shooting. It functions flawlessly on lead semi-wadcutters of 185 or 200 grains. The accuracy is good enough to shoot bullseye with, which means it's pretty darned accurate.

....however, I agree with the previous post that suggests a Les Baer or something similar when you are contempating a high-dollar gun. If this gun is to be, for example, bullseye, then buy a bullseye gun instead. Although my gun is very fine, I seldom use it because I eventually bought a dedicated bullseye gun, which is what I should have bought in the first place.
