Site for asparagus bed

Does asparagus need full sun?  I have a spot I want to use, but it doesn't get a great deal of sun.

Asparagus does best in full sun and can get by with not less than 8 hours of light, but harvest will be reduced.  It also requires rich, well drained soil.
