Good 9mm handloads
« on: April 18, 2005, 04:58:54 PM »
Hi all,

I am trying to find some good loads to feed my 92FS. These are just average everyday plinker loads. Not trying to win any competitions here. Please let me know what you guys ussually use (bullets, powder, primer, case). I am trying to keep the price to a minimum. Maybe duplicate the winchester usa cheap loads. Thanks for all the help.

I reload a lot of calibers but I find it hard to justify the time to reload 9mm because of the price of factory stuff. I do reload duplicates of premium ammo for practice. The stuff in my gun is usually factory because of liability concerns.

Rainier bullets work well and are very inexpensive. Here is load data:

You can get them from Midway. http://www.rainierballistics.com/mainframe.htm

KN, you sure about those quantities of WW 231?  Sounds more like a 45 acp load than 9mm.

W-231 From 3.5 grains to 5.5 grains
 CCI-500 Primer

But for 115's I like:
Power Pistol From 4.8 grains to 6.7 grains
 CCI-500 Primer

Yes its kind of strange just how close the 45acp and the 9mm are load wise with W-231. That 5.5 is a max load if I'm not mistaken.  KN
