Die/press compatability
« on: April 19, 2005, 07:34:47 AM »
Do you have to use the same make of die as your press?
I purchased a RCBS die set on sale for my 300 rum a few years ago knowing that I would eventually get into reloading, and was wondering if I need a RCBS press.  Will likely go with a RCBS but just curious.

Thanks,

Most dies will fit most presses.  7/8" diameter X (I think) 14 threads per inch

About the only ones I'm familiar with that are different are the Dillon Square deal dies. Those are special. I'm sure there are others but not many. Most are 7/8-14 as ButlerFord45 stated.   KN

1 or 2 of the old Lyman presses took special dies but a new press will take any die, with the exception of the Square Deal b ,as mentioned.
