Body grippers

Would a 220  bodygripper be too small for beaver.  In our state we have to submerge all traps bigger that 7", so 220's would be a bit more versatile.

Although I've caught beaver in 220's....they are DEFINATELY not my perfered trap, and all catches were incidentals. Killed them solid, but avoidance by big beavers is probable. submerged 330 would most likely be your best bet if targeting them.

It can be done, but should not be done often.

I use them for rare places where the 330 will not fit and there is no other option other than getting into the earth moving business.

Even at such times, I always use one that is too strong like a bmi mag.

I hadn't thought about the issue of avoidance with the smaller trap.

I set one 220 for 2 nights and caught 2 beaver, the only reason I did it,was to test out one of my patented stabilizers.
A 220 will end up educating more beaver than they catch, stick to the 330 .
