It would appear that all our 25 ACP adapters have just become unnecessary...or have they?
This system is cheaper and uses the factory breech plug, making it adaptable to EVERY 209 gun.  I give it that.  However, you must buy all of your "adapters" from them.  Those suckers are small and easy to lost, especially in the field.
Sure, I paid 3X as much for my ACP conversion, but if I lose all my casing I can go out any buy more at any ammo store.

I think I will just stick to my 25 ACP conversion. Those 209 size primers are a pain to handle. The 25 ACP is working great for me.  :D
But if you try them let us know how you like them.
If  you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

On the sidekick the 25acp plug is still much better
as it gives a hex head for install/removal of the
plug instead of NEF's funky slotted head with their
horrible tool.Also as mentioned,no proprietary(sp?)
primer cases to deal with. The 25acp brass is cheap,
lasts a long time, and is widely available. The tools
for dealing with the 25acp cases are inexpensive
even if you don't already handload.A very small
investment for better performance,much cleaner,
and generally easier to deal with.At least this has
been my experience. The initial cost of this system
will be quicly forgotten with the expense of projectiles
and powders
If no 25acp system available for your rifle, that system
may be a viable alternative though, just to get away
from the messy 209 system. :-)

Hi guys,   I've never posted on this site before, done a lot of reading though. I just ordered one of those kits from PR Bullets tonight. I use the .22 Hornet adapter in my Omega.Really like it! I also have a Knight Disc Extreme and I'm going to try the 209/ smallrifle adapter in it. I think it will help eliminate the mess around the disc area and the bolt. That is my resoning anyway.I've  gone to backing off the bolt a touch and cleaning it  every 10 shots so that solved my problem of siezed  plugs (info of this site).I'll post my findings from my Disc trials  ......Ken

Cool Ken,I'll be very interested in your findings with this system.
Please do post your results/opinions of how it works as it does
seem to be a good idea for those guns with no converted plug
available for them. The 209 primers are so much overkill for
these rifles and create way too much mess for me to deal with.
After only 10 or 12 shots,my sidekick won't even lock up due
to the buildup on the breech face from the 209's and alot of
gunk to clean out around the plug.Looking forward to your
findings :-)
Gary
ps:I also have to wonder how much it costs for more primer adapters :?
as 10 is not nearly enough for me to have on hand without reloading
them while shooting,I would need 100 of them.

Gary... When I talked to someone at PR Bullets in regards to this conersion,He said they should be available in bulk later on. They never gave me a price on them that way, but I'm like you , I want more than 10, if they work. It would be a real pain to have to remove the 209 adapter from my disc, reprime it and then reinstall it at the range.I haul enough stuff out to the range as it is!! Should have them in a week, then need time to get out, so a couple weeks from now I figure. Will definately post my findings......Ken

Yea,$15.00 for 10 more adapters,holy smokes!I guess it's o.k.
for someone who won't be shooting too much, but I'd need
too many of them to be worthwhile.Besides,I can't see myself
depriming and priming them at the range.Sorry it didn't work
out for you.

I bought the kit from coolpoolken to try in my encore barrels 15 inch 209x50 and 26 inch 209x45.
it will be a little while before I can get some range time to give them a real try.

My first impressions.
I primed them with CCI Small rifle primers and they fit very tight, no worries about them backing out. they should last a long time.
I can see when using them at the range they will be a pain in the butt, but the priming tools are small and light and it doest take long to prime the 10 adapters. this could be done while you are waiting for the barrel to cool down some.
they will really shine when hunting, if  you are away from home on and expensive hunt and loose them or run out of primed cases most places you can find normal 209 primers. I know the POI will not be the same but the hunt will be saved. If you run out of the 22  horner or 25 acp cases and do not have the factory 209 breach plug and tools you will be SOL

I would really like to see them come from the factory painted a bright Orange so they can be found easy if dropped and to make for a very quick ID
Using one of the adapters it will be very easy to make a snap cap for you muzzle loader, This would be a great idea for the factory :D

There are a couple of solutions to running out or loosing the 25ACP primers.
1) Go to a store and buy a box of 25ACP loaded and use a plier's to pull the bullets.
2) Do like I do and carry 50 of them with you in a box and I also carry about 20 in a film container. If you prepare correctly you will carry several different containers to make sure you have plenty. That's what a possables bag is for.  :D

Or just buy 100 brass cases from a supplier. They're like $6.00/100. Prime em all up and you've got plenty of brass for a while. 25 ACP brass just isn't that expensive. It's actually cheaper than the throw away Knight red plastic jackets.

Loosing my 25 acp cases is not a worry,as I carry plenty with me.
Out in my area,25 acp cases and small rifle primers are as
available as shotgun primers. Those little adapters would be
much easier to loose and the pistol brass is easier to handle.
If no other alternative is available, the system may be good
for some, however,at $15 for 10 adapters and the overpriced
original kit,I would just use shotgun primers.Just way too
expensive for anyone who wants to shoot alot.If I want my
barrel to cool down,I shoot another rifle  Last thing
I want to do at the range is repriming anything, that can be done
at times when I can't be shooting.I will look forward to your
opinions of the system after extensive use, hope it works
for those who need it.
Yeah wolfhound,I originally bought 300 brass thinking I'd need a bunch
but after about 1000 shots,I'm still on my original 100 cases. These
pistol brass last a long time in this application.

I do not know if I will like them or not. I got them used so it was not that bad if they do not work out. IF they show signs of working for me I can always buy a 25 acp breach plug latter.
