Question I am still waiting for the catalog from H@R but what came to mind ,on the Handi's can you purchase extra barrel and install them with out returning them to H@R
Example I was looking at the 45-70 Handi, now I decide to purchase a 30-06 barrel can you remove the hinge pin and reinstall the barrel on you own? :D

It's much simpler than that, actually.  The biggest drawback of the Handi is to buy the barrel the receiver has to be sent back to H&R, have the barrel fitted and return to you.

From then on it takes about 30 sec to change barrels.

Simple remove the forearm screw, remove the forearm, and open the barrel as if you were putting a shell in.  Hang on the to barrel cause it will fall off in your hands.  Reverse the process to install new barrel and you are done!

If they ever come out with barrels that do not have to be "fitted" they will not keep up with demand, for sure.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

Changing barrels is as simple as removing the forend screw, remove the forend, press the latch release to break the barrel open while holding the barrel and lift it out of the frame, reverse the procedure to install the barrel. H&R will not sell barrels without fitting them to your frame, but you can buy used barrels and either fit them yourself of have one fitted by a competent gunsmith. There's more info in the FAQ at the top of this forum list.

The Buffalo Classic and Target don't come in a carboard box, just a plastic hard case, all the rest of the H&R/NEF rifles come in a box. My BC came in a Doskosport SE contoured case like the one in the pic on the Doskosport page below...

My BC came in the hard case and inside of a cardboard box as well. I might pick up my 22-250 NEF tomorrow. If I do I will have a range report in a few days. I had to put a new scope on my NEF 243. The Old Bushnell quit adjusting right and left. Well it was over 20 years old and it cost me about a dollar a year to use. Not to bad. :)  I had a new Leupold 3x9 Rifleman on the shelf so I put that on and stuck the bore sighter on it.
shot placement is everything.
