Can Leather Be Lightened??
« on: April 26, 2005, 12:59:34 PM »
I need some help from you leather working guru's.

I recently acquired a commercial leather knife sheath that I really like other than the color.  It's currently a dark redish brown. Nicely done just not my style. Is there anyway to lighten the color or is it one of those things you can go darker but not lighter?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can try and clean it with some glycerine soap... but if it is old, chances are that the coloring is bonded very well with the leather.
