Bigfoot Speech and Music Response
« on: April 26, 2005, 04:44:37 PM »
Hello,
Been a silent, interested reader here for some time.  I am a believer in bigfoot and really enjoy reading about big foot and other creatures at this site.  I live in northern Ohio where the land is flat and mostly cleared for agriculture so there is not much bigfoot action in this area.  I do a lot of reading online about bigfoot.  I know several people in southern Ohio who have seen bigfoot.  In the past on several occasions I have read about people hearing bigfoot utter a few words of human speech or mimicking sounds humans make.  Has anyone had any kind of experiance like this.  I am also wondering if anyone has ever had/seen a bigfoot respond to any kind of music since primates seem to enjoy music.  I do not know if music soothes the savage beast, but I like music a lot so it might have an effect on bigfoot.  These questions are totally serious.  I am ot poking fun at anyone.  I am serious about bigfoot.  Thanks Bryan Oney.

playing music to attract bigfoot

Hi BryanOney :D

And welcome to the board. To answer your question, I can only speak from my bigfoot hunting experiences, I dont know about others in the research of the creature, but here in Okla, where we hunt, we dont see him make anysounds. What we have observed is that when we see him, he is either just walking, or in a hunting mode if you will. I personell have had him to grunt at me, like a monkey, more of a short of small grunts, like grumph---grumph. Then theres the peacoke sounds. We didnt auctually see him make the sounds, but there are no peacokes for a 50 mile range in our part of the world, so when we heard the sounds, we immediatley went to the area where they came from, which was only about 20 yards from us in a creek, and there he was. It was night, and we had nightvision. He saw us and ran away. So from that, we know that he made the peacoke sound.
He does beat on trees, with a stick or tree limb. Again, we havent seen him do it, but always, after we hear that sound, its not long untill we have a sighting.
He is curious, we have pretty good luck by starting a small fire, and leave 1 or 2 guys, around the fire, to chit-chat, and the rest of us spread out in tower stands and observe, sometimes he comes in to investigate, whats going on.
We think he will make owl calls, coyote calls, whistle at you, in one long tone, and sometimes short burst, knock on trees, bang rocks together. The above animal sounds, that I just talked about, is not the auctually animals makeing the sounds, there more like a monkey, trying to mimick the sounds of the animals.
As far as playing music, we never tried that one. One reason is if were playing music, then we couldnt hear if he was grunting at us. But it might work, who knows.
Keep in mind that alot of this stuff you hear about bigfoot, is just hogwash, from most of the armchair hunters, that have never been in the real dark woods at night looking for him. There are very few that I would believe in what they say. And we know alot of them. A perfect example is, about 8 years ago, a group of bigfoot hunters from a known bigfoot organization, (I wont give out there name), came up to do some hunting. Well to make a long story short, they never left the front yard till it got daylight :) , .
Dont know if this answered your question, but the above, has been our experiences, and we been doing it for the last 9 years or so.

I'll tell ya one thing if i played music for bigfoot it wouldn't be any "Rap Music" for sure.  I would try something slow and soft to try not to piss it off. The only thing i have heard was some sort of gibberish language near my window at night. It sounded like two of them talking or one talking to the other. But by the time i got out of my bunk to look out the window they were gone.  All I ever get is the screams but its very close to my camp but just out of sight.  I'm not sure what it is but it relates to other stories i have read on a bigfoot sight there were campers/hikers nearby me who were chased out of the woods in daylite by something screaming at them.  It seems to comeby when no one is hunting like in September to October but when deer season comes if its crowded with hunters it stays away but if I have no other hunters come up there it will pay a visit during deer season by screaming.  Its screams are intense.  I did have music on during the evening when it has screamed at us too.  Maybe it heard the music  I was outside using the outdoor plumbing when it screamed.  Maybe you have something to think about.                    BigBill

Christmas starts early in the north country they start playing christmas music on the radio early in november thats why i have it playing in the evenings.  Between the snow and the christmas music in November it kind of makes it feel more like christmas is comming.  I'm not sure why its not a tradition every where.  I guess we have lost something along the way.

Hi BryanOney: :D

Welcome to Graybeard Outdoors Forum.

Can't say that I have ever heard or read about Bigfoot being attracted to the sound of music. On the other hand, perhaps playing something soft and soothing may soothe the savage beast and stir its curiosity. Music may certainly be worth a try.

From my past experiences with Bigfoot/Sasquatch, I would say that some (perhaps young and/or aggressive males defending their territory) may be attracted by the sound of children. I know of two separate occasions where the creature has come quickly to where children where laughing, screaming and generally having fun. Once the creature arrived at the location where the children were, it seemed intent on driving them away with extremely loud screams, loud mumbling sounds and the breaking of large tree branches.

As BigBill and bullet maker mentioned, Bigfoot is thought to make loud screaming noises or roars. Although I have never had the luck to hear one out in the wilds, I do know several people (including my own daughter) that have claimed to have heard these screams in the night and they all state it is not something you soon forget.

The only thing that is worse than anything i have had happen to us is the feeling of being watched and followed.  It follows us in and out of the woods all the time no matter what time of year it is too.  It stays out of sight up on the ridge above my camp.  I can hear branches breaking as it walks with us.  I just don't like being anythings entertainment.  I even scan the ridge with my scope on 24x on my 338win.mag. and i see nothing out of place or any movements of any kind too.  I watch the top of the ridge were the sky shows light thru the trees up there and hoping to see something but it turns up nothing all the time. I know there are small ledges were it can hide but this ridge is so full of blow downs you can't walk 4' without stepping over them in any direction these are small cedar trees.  I went up there once and it just isn't worth the trouble it took hours to the top. Can this thing be so smart all the time?
                                                                   BigBill

Me any my son once were flying down the old access road with our dirtbikes and he caught something moving away from us he said it was very large and it was dark like a moose in color.  He didn't get a good look at it but this was near where the campers were chased out of the woods.  When your flying on the bikes everything is a green blur to the sides so it had to be infront of him at one point before it took off.

I have the radio on during suppertime when were hunting to listen to the weather and the music.  Probably from 5pm to 7pm when we hit the sack to get up at 4am to eat breakfast to go hunting just before first light to walk and hunt the access roads.

o'l man mountain;  Its a scream you will never forget for sure!!!  If your daughter heard it and she still goes in the woods Godbless her.  I'm sure if my brother was still alive and he heard it he would never go up there with me again.  I think my youngest son is very weary about going up there while he doesn't show it I'm sure he is I can sense it.  He won't go camping with his buddies up there even though i tell him to.

You know, it's funny you should mention that. It took me one month and a lot of begging just to get my daughter — and the owner of the land where she had her possible Bigfoot/Sasquatch encounter — to accompany me back to the exact location where it happened. Since her frightening encounter with an unknown creature, she refuses to go camping or hiking in our neck of the woods. I'm hoping she will change her mind as time passes.

:D Well, I am back, and no sightings. Oh well...

I have heard strange screams at night, but I won't say it was bigfoot, but I won't say it was an owl.

If I heard the human sounding gibberish I would be gripping one of my firearms so tight my knockles would be white! I don't care who you are, animals talking gibberish that sounds human isn't right! It would be a thrill to hear it though!!!!

A real adrenaline rush!

I have two things in my bunk with me at all times, one is a flashlite and the other is a ruger redhawk in 44mag. and my 8mm Hakim with 25rd mag is a step away from my bunk leaning nearby. Trailer windows are flimsy and a bigfoot hand could just go right thru one very easily if it wanted too.  You have to hear the scream then you would know how intense it can be.  Its just a loud bone chilling scream.  If it does pay an unwelcome visit inside my trailer we will have a body and pictures!!!  I had an sks for a camp gun but now its my 8mm hakim because there is just too much crap i hear at night plus i'm like constantly stalked during the day. Between the gibberish I heard and the rocks being banged together its no other animal that i could think of but a monkey??  A big monkey at that right.  The dam thing follows me, i can hear it breaking branches as it walks with me and when i stop it stops and when i continue it starts walkin again so its no other animal that has these smarts that i could think of too. I have never gone down my road without being followed.  Or been on my land without the feeling of being watched all the time. I'm halfway up on the side of a mountain and my road runs parallel with the mountain till it meets the top and thats a distance off  from me. I just want to see it once to be positive to what it is thats all.  I think my woodstove smoke and the smell of my viddles attracts it at suppertime too and maybe it gets exceited and loses some fear on me.  Since the ground is hard near me I have to checkout the spring were some softer ground is for tracks.  I'm just not sure what it is yet but its not the norm. Since i'm disabled i stay in the area of my camp now too. I can't walk too far.
                                                                             BigBill

My camp is in the dead center of the state and is bordered on two sides by national forest that runs north to Canada and south past Rutland on the eastern side in the Chitteden area.  My camp is in the wilds away from all the other houses and i'm the last place in the valley before the forest.  Anything that comes in that area goes by me on the road if its human.  I don't get many visitors during the year until deer season.  Maybe i see just around 6 other hunters if that sometimes on opening weekend if that.  Its not a well traveled area its still wild.  I have bears comeby more than people.

It will be bigfoot's I hope!!!!!!                      BigBill

I have to try to record these screams and see if i can get the gibberish too.  The dam screams will do it to you in a heart beat too. Once you hear it its with you forever.

redryder21  I had 6 hakims but i have 4 left now.  I found 5 of them on the net and one was at a few gun shows at the same vendor in a years span so i had to buy it.  I felt bad for it sitting in the corner.  Its funny no one bought it for like 3 or 4 gun shows during that year.  At the gun show when i bought it there was a table with $750/$1200 garands and a crowd drooling over them when i took the hakim by them they all turned and stared at me and one asked what i had I told him about the hakim and i got the best buy of the gun show!!!  You should of seen the look on their faces when i said its a swedish 8mm garand??  If the gun was there any longer i would of had to cut the roots??  It looked dirty and needed a good G.I. cleaning too but now its a purdy one.  You can still find some affordable but there few and far between their starting to hit $450 to $500 now.  There was a time when none were to be found then they were comming out of the woodwork when some had some accidents with them because they didn't adjust the gas valve properly or not at all.  Any military semi auto rifle that has a adjustable gas valve you must readjust it for everytime you change your brand of ammo.  You want the valve on the hakim opened the least amount so the system sees less gas just enough to operate it and loc the bolt carrier open on the last shot.  Its very finiky with ammo until you understand how it functions and adjusts. Its a sweet shooter but yet a mean one too(8mm).

I have never held or shot a Hakim, but when I was a young kid, my uncle had one for awhile. It would bring alot of attention at the shooting range.

I am against shooting BigFoot (just my personal belief), but a firearm that can be used for self defense against a BigFoot is always in the back of my mind.

What I just said may have just made me look like a wakco, but Oh Well!

For the time being my BigFoot repellent is a Mosin Nagant 38.

I have never seen nor heard the big foot but am roughly between yourself & BrianOney.
I was wondering if you put any stock in the old theory of big foot sightings conciding with UFO sightings and or rotton egg smells?

Hi glanceblamm :D
No, there is no relation between the U.F.O. sightings, or number of U.F.O. sightings, and the sightings, of bigfoot. For example, we have had numerous bigfoot sightings, during our years, of bigfoot research, and not one U.F.O. sighting during the same period. The two are not related. I`m not a disbeliever of U.F.O.`s, just that we have never seen the one or the other at the same time.
Now as far as the rotten egg smell, well yes we have had that happen, its more of a real strong buck deer hock gland smell, wet dog, sulphur, rotten eggs, and rotten meat, all rolled into one. There are times when we have seen him but no smell at all. We think the offensive smell is his way of warning us, he may be mad, or it could be to warn us, to stay away. I relate it to a cotton mouth snake, if you notice that when you come across one, they will swell up and put out a musky odor. Whereas I also have happened upon them, and they didn't know I was coming and they emit no odor at all, until they see me, and then the odor begins.
Think about this, If they smelled that way all the time, then they wouldn`t be able to catch any deer, or anyother animal, that they were trying to get for food, cause the smell would warn the animals. So that`s why, I`m pretty positive its a territorial thing.
