My last day on Active Duty
« on: April 27, 2005, 11:23:29 AM »
Hey guys and gals my last day on active duty is the 29th of April.  Man I never thought I would make it.  Well actually I have 38 days of leave so my Seperation date is 6th of Jun.  So after the 29th I'm going Turkey hunting every day I can !!!!!!  Then I plan to do some crappy fishing up at Black hill lake and maybe some bass fishing on the potomac river.  Then I go back to work at the same place as a contractor.
Since I live off post I don't have to worry about moving and all that stuff so all my time can go into hunting and fishing.

Retireing and loving it !!!!!!!!!!

Now you can shave whenever you want to, or not. I always said I would never shave again after shaving every day while I was in. I have had a beard ever since. Single Digit Midget.

Now we definitley got toget together next duck season. Congrats and thanks for your service. I think about being retired now if I had stayed in sometimes. Especially after 2  14 hour days in a row. I'm sure you put in quite a few long days as well and didn't get overtime. Well have to catch up one of these days. Maybe for some fishing if I ever get my boat in the water.

My last active duty day was 12-1-77. Swore not to shine another pair of shoes or wear a watch. Had to get a watch when I was working. Havent shined a pair of shoes yet, but shure have oiled a lot of hunting boots.
20+ yrs of the navy cured me of shining shoes.  :D

Ok my first day as a civilian didn't work as well as I would have wanted it.  Spent the early morning chasing Mr. Tom through the woods.  Heard a few but none would come within gun range.  Worked the woods until late morning with no success decide I had enough and went to the pubic gun range and took my frushention out on some paper target.  Then I decided to do some fishing as soon as I got to the river it started raining cats and dogs.  So went home without a turkey and wet....  So here I sat drinking some buds and wishing I had gotten a big ole Tom.

Sounds like a lot of my days in the Army. Spend a whole day not getting much accomplished then end up drinking beer.
