A Safe Question....
« on: April 27, 2005, 04:25:24 PM »
Hey Guys,

Some of us value our toys a great deal and would be devastated if they would be stolen from us. I personally have a safe but was thinking of getting a new one and I am looking at an American Security http://www.amsecusa.com/gun-safes-BF-main.htm
or a Graffunder http://www.graffundersafes.com/index.cfm

Does anyone have experience with either of these two company's? They both sound great!

Thanks much,

Billy

No experience with them I have to liberty safes that are good.  I would not trust the electric locks.  The mechanicals are usually tempered glass mess with it (drill or knock off with sledge hammer) and the glass shatters.  Electronic ones may be easier to break in I don't know.

A Safe Question....

I took my time and found one in the on line for sale site. It was a very large Fort Knox. The only thing I did not like was that it was not fire proof. I bought it any way, brought it home and tore the carpet out careful like and placed double thinkness of sheet rock throughout. I then rewired it for lights and de humidifier. I then went to the carpet store and bought a left over chunk of carpet I liked and replaced it.  The weight is now much more-- no one is going to carry it off.  Cost of safe $600, couple sheets of sheetrock ?? some paint  and a piece of carpet ??  I think I still came out a head. It pays not to be in a rush to buy. Goog luck.

Have Fun,
