Will the 7.62x39 be available as a complete rifle?
« on: April 27, 2005, 08:32:22 PM »
I was going to buy a .243 Win Handi-Rifle and throw a Choate thumbhole stock on it to make it look like a Survivor model, but now that I hear the 7.62x39 chambering is coming out, I might hold off a bit.  I'm looking for a low-recoil deer rifle for shots out to ~150 yds, and either round would be fine for my uses.  It's just that there is so much surplus 7.62 ammo available, it would make plinking and practice much cheaper than with the .243 Win.

Will NEF be selling complete rifles in 7.62x39, or just replacement barrels?  Thanks.

Hi Nick-and Welcome :D
All that I have heard to date is that it will be sold as a seperate barrel in the barrel program. If they did thought, it probably wouldn't be untill early/mid next year till you could get one in hand. They would have to put it in the catalog and all. Just my 2 cents of guesswork for what is worth  -but I could be wrong??
