Rem 7600 Scope Mounts

Just joined your board.  Bought a new 7600 in 308, always wanted one, and picked up a Weaver base mount for it.  The screws with the mount were 6X48, the receiver was taped for 8X40.  Used the shortest 8X40 screws I had and the action would not slide back because the screw were a little long.  So I shortened them.  The action works fine now and the rifle shoots well.  Just thought I would mention and wonder if anyone else has experienced this.  Thanks

Yes, I had the same thing happen to me when I bought my first 7600.  I bought a Weaver mount and it had 6-48 screws with it.  I called Outers and they sent me the correct screws.
