First Glock Handgun Purchase
« on: April 29, 2005, 06:41:17 AM »
Well...I did it.  I went to the Gun Center and handled the two guns that I have been contemplating for some time now...The Springfield XD40 and the Glock 23...They both felt good in my hand but I have to admit that the Glock felt a little bit better than the XD did.  I wasn't sure that I wanted to purchase a gun yesterday so I had the counterman put them back.  I then asked him if he had any used Glocks in house.  He showed me a used Model 23 with nite sites and the extra capacity magazine that looked brand new for $449.  Well, needless to say, the gun is now mine...I put $50 down on it and have 60 days to pay it off and pick it up.  It should only take me about 10 days to pick it up but it's nice to know that I have 60 if need be.  I can't wait to get to the range with this gun...I wanted to add a 40cal to my collection for some time now and now I have.  Just need to bring that baby home now...

I think you will like the Glock 23.  I got one last fall and really enjoy shooting it.

As good of a price as I've seen lately on a used one.  I really like the 19 and 23.  I wouldn't be able to wait

Good choice on the G23. I carried one as an off duty weapon for several years untill I moved to another department. The .40 S&W is a good round.

The G22 is the reason that I purchased the G23...I shot it at a range and liked it so much that I just had to have a Glock.  I opted for the 23 over the 22 for concealability issues while carrying concealed.

I've owned this gun for about 4 months now and haven't been able to shoot it until last Friday...I was scouting at the farm that I do most of my whitetail hunting on and I took the Glock along...Man this pistol shoots great.  I love it...I only had time to put 50 rounds through it but I really enjoyed those 50 rounds.  Now I am itching to get out and shoot it again.  Next time will probably be this upcoming weekend...Woo hoo.  I'm sure glad I purchased that G23.  :P

i just purchased a model 32 w/nite sites, pre-owned, from the "Gun Center".  It had a $429 tag on it that i couldn't walk away from. the 357 SIG. cartridge was a novelty, and is a little fast for the indoor range. So, I'll have to wait for a break in the blizzard to get outside to shoot it. The Gun Center is like a candy store. I went to pick up my new Kimber Eclipse, saw the Glock and had to have it.

I hear ya Rick...Some time my truck just takes me there...I don't know what get's into it.  I have been able to stay away for six months or so but I am getting that itch again.  Been thinking about a pocket pistol...
