Lee Products Dies, Auto primer & Auto Primer II
« on: April 29, 2005, 12:57:17 PM »
I have bought all the Lee products I started off with their dies first and I have even found their cheap RGB Dies $10 work great.  I sat watching Tv the other night with the Lee auto primer and i did 400rds of handgun ammo like 9mm, 7,62x25, 44mag and 45acp so quickly by hand it was actually fun.  I have tried it with some rifle calibers but with some cases the primer pockets are tighter so I went insearch of again and i found another Lee product called the Lee Auto Prime II it fits my RCBS Rockchucker too and loads the primer on the up stroke rather than the down stroke like on the RCBS primer feeder/loader does.  I like the up stroke better it has more feel and force moving the press handle down. My hats off to the Lee guys again with their great products and the best yet their affordable prices too.  You just can't beat the Lee stuff!!!

I just got my Lee kit, and finally got the 3 die set last week, for my 38/55. I'm almost ready, must get a mold and the Lee bullet sizer.
I'm glad to hear your report about that firms products. Seems that some swear by them and some swear at them. Guess I'm going to find out for myself. Thanks!                                   Woodbutcher

I had problems with the Lee Auto primer at first but I think it was either it needed breaking in or it was me needing to get the rythm to use it properly but after doing about 600+ rounds with it, it works great for me.  The Lee dies adjust the sameway the RCBS dies do if you need more crimp you just lower the seating die (outer housing).  I like to seat the bullet where I want it first(depth) then i back off the seater to adjust the crimp.  Once i adjust the outer die to crimp while its down on the bullet I adjust the saeter to the completed round them I'm good to go and run the rest of them, but i do check the very next round to be sure its ok.  I can put so much crimp on the rounds the optional factory crimp die does nothing if I try it after on the finished round.                   BigBill
