Uberti Remington 1858 44 cal Carbine

I acquired one of thse last year. Have killed one hog with it so far.  Are there any shooters out there working with one of these?.......James

Howdy,
Old post, hope your still around. I got one of these last year, I am not a hunter but it is a hoot to shoot.

The cylinder will fit the new army (uberti) so I have a total of 3 cylinders to share between them.

 I use about 28-35 g fff and .457 ball (also have old army) use corn meal as filler and have noticed some kind of blowback that hits me in the left cheek, (got a beard so no damage) I suspect it is cornmeal since I think the cylinder is timed correctly and not shaveing lead. Another good reason to ALWAYS use shooting glasses. I read some where someone shot a pig @ 30 yards, in the ear!

Always gets lots of notice at the range. The gun not the pig.
