I am looking at getting a ultra hunter in 270. My question is can I get a 223 bull barel to fit that. New to the handi so any info will help.

Welcome aboard!
You sure can get a .223 barrel for it, all you have to do is send your frame in to H&R and they will fit the barrel to your frame...plan on 3 to 8 weeks wait, and the barrel cost of $100 plus ~$35 shipping and fitting. I'd opt for the 24" bull barrel, plan on shooting 55gr and lighter bullets in it, although there are a few exceptions to that. Ask for a free ~3lb trigger job while it's there, too!!!

Ahhh... Another Handiholic. Welcome to thed board, and general Handiholicness. These are great rifles to shoot, and for the most part very accurate. Keep us posted as your collection grows.
