Is there a recoil pad that fits the old style ruger .44 magnum carbine. Already tried the .22 ruger one and its too stiff!

A company that makes (or at least used to) recoil pads for the Mini-14 is called Choate.  That should fit the .44 Ruger as well as the 10/22 carbines.

The Choate product extends the length of pull about an inch too.

How about a limbsaver grind to fit?

There are no makers I could find producing a pad shaped for the carbine butt plate of the Ruger.  Perhaps a decelerator drind to fit and fill the tab on top(it's called a return) with epoxy or a nice piece of walnut.  I would serve no purpose but would blend in nicely.
