410 barrel won't lock up

Got a 410 barrel from ebay over the weekend.  It came today.  It won't lock up.  I have not fitted a barrel before, I don't know where to start.  HELP!
It closes fine, but will not latch.

did you try to fit it and THEN it wouldnt lock? that means you put too much material on the barrel.

I didn't do anything to the barrel yet.  I just mounted it on the receiver and closed it.  I did not put the forend on it.  It closes, but does not latch. At all.
