What is a Sig "Blue Line" model?????????
« on: May 04, 2005, 02:02:51 PM »
Hello and thanks in advance for your help.  Iwas in a local shop looking at various pistols today and saw a Sig 9mm model named "Blue Line."  It looks a lot like a Sig Pro, and was priced similarly.

However when I went to the Sig wb site, I could not find mention of it anywhere.  Is it an  older model, replaced by the Sig Pro?  Thanks for the help.

It may be in reference to the blue tape that is looped around the handle.

Its means that it is a used gun that has been certified by Sig as being 100 percent...it may have been refinished. Anyhow, factory armorers will go over each gun, replace anything that is suspect and refinish if need be.They usally have the correct factory plastic case that goes with them and may have an additional magazine.

Ive seen several and one was hardpressed to tell that they werent brand new. They are generally cheaper than a new gun and in many cases they are great bargains.

HotGuns, I know what you are talking about with regard to the factory certified used models.  This is new in the box, and it looks alot like the new Sig Pro's.  It looks like I'll have to call Sig to solve this mystery.

Thanks for the reply.

You can get just about any Sig model that's been factory reconditioned. Here's a link to a place selling them, complete with prices.

I'm waiting for a 228 to come in. MI VHNTR

I wouldn't mind getting a remanufactured P220 and having Sig's Custom shop convert it to "double action only". The factory DA/SA trigger is the only thing I don't like about the P220! I like either "single action" or "double action" pistols :-)

I do not like shooting DA, unless it is a Glock or XD type trigger. I do like to carry DA though, but even on my first shot I do not shoot DA. I have gotton fast with pulling the hammer back when I draw my pistol. I shoot 6 guns DA most of the time because that is how they shoot the fastest when shooting more then one time. But, I will also pull back the hammer on 6 guns when I draw for the first shot as im unholsering the pistol.

For me the Sig is a awesome gun. Good target gun, good carry gun. It is a safe gun with the DA/SA and decocker. And the guns have been proven time and time again.

As for me I shoot a Sig P226 in 9MM. I have feed it 2000+ rounds in the 3 months I have had it. It has yet to burp one time. It is not picky about ammo or cleaning. I went 300 or 400 rounds over the corse of a week or so and did not even wipe the gun off, it still shot perfect.

I have my CCW and IMHO there is only two guns out there I would bet my life on. One is Sig and the other(as much as I hate to say it) is a Glock. I am a HUGH 1911 fan and most of my pistols are 1911s, but, I still pick a sig over them. Just about every 1911 I have owned or seen has jammed atlest one time. I have never seen a sig jam, and most people I shoot with shoot sigs. So, I see a lot of rounds go though them.

       Just MHOs.

I have never owed a Sig so I can't say to much about them. I have two Glocks and I feel the same way about my Glocks as you do your Sigs.
