New and old 336
« on: May 04, 2005, 08:44:46 PM »
hey all.

My dad picked up a used 336 today. Looks like it has never had a round though it. But, some one took the time to scope it and put a sling on it. So, I would guess it has seen the field a time or two. It is really a nice looking gun.

Any-how, I have a 336 also. But, they differ a little bit. My older 336 has no checkering at all, it is all smoth every were. And mine dont have a safty on it.

My dads 336 is checkered and has a safty.

Can some one help me put a date on both rifles?

                  Thanks.
                         Dave.

Go to this page and type in your serial number and get a date for your 336.

On the left hand side go to Manufacture Dates and to Marlin and click.

Hey Burgie...Thanks for the URL to the oldguns site!  I have been looking a long time on the internet for a place to date firearms. Much appreciated!
