Arcadia "barrel" for Mark II
« on: February 16, 2003, 08:06:19 AM »
Someone gave me a Ruger Mark II barrel made by ARCADIA MACHINE & TOOL of Covina California.  I guess it is more than a barrel it is everything amove the receiver except the bolt.

I have noticed a huge amount of slop when it is mounted on my reciever.  I do not have this with my ruger slabside.

I was wondering if this 8 inch Arcadia "barrel" is a decent product and worth the trouble of correcting this problem, and how to go about correcting it?

Thanks!

It sounds to me like you've got a barrelled reciever from an AMT Lightning. Those were very close copies of the Ruger MKII, but as you have noticed not exact. I doubt they'd be interested in fitting it to your Ruger frame, but they might sell you the rest of the pistol. (If they're still in business - I'm not sure.)

Nobade,

Thanks for solving my problem!!  An internet search  for amt lightning pretty much confirms all you said.

Now I need to sell an amt barrel and receiver.

Thanks,

Fred :D
