Just thought I'd share a pic of my Gemmer from Rich McKinney from Drake, CO. I don't have my hands on it yet but when I do there will be a full review following. Looks pretty good to me so far. :grin:

Beautiful gun Medbill! Very unique, and appears to be nicely fitted! Is it like the original Sharps percussion models, or a cartridge gun?
Looking forward to more pics and updates when you get her home!

Thanks Marlinman,

Its a 40-65 and heavily engraved, unique is the word. A lot of "me" and some special life experiences went into its build.

Thanks Bill! I recognised Ken's work as soon as the link opened! He definitely does some gorgeous art! Thanks for the pictures of your gun. It's one of the best looking Sharps I've seen, and I'm sure very special to you, with the personal touches you've had done to it!
I'm working on a Hepburn presently, and hope to get it back in June, completed! I've already had it together twice, and done a fair amount of load testing, prior to the final finishing. Hope it looks even slightly close to your fine gun!

Thank you, its a dandy and I just can't wait to get my hands on it, only a few more weeks!

I love Hepburn's! I have an nice old Swedish RB action made into a 40/65 sporter just for the Quigley shoot one of these days. That's about as much punch as I can handle. Please post some pics of your Hepburn when you have it all together.

My favorite rifle still is my Ballard 4 1/2 midrange, fits me like a glove in the offhand position. Ken did some engraving on that as well but not quite as elaborate or personalized. Ballard did an incredible job on it. Can't say enough about the quality product they turn out. I'm thinking of sending it back to Ballard in Cody to have the chamber popped out to 38-50 instead of its current caliber 38/55. Steve Garbe sure thinks a lot of that caliber. We both have neck injuries so we can relate to recoil problems.

Are you a BPCR silhouette shooter, target or schuetzen? I'm kinda out of it right now because I have such bad carpal tunnel in my left hand I can't cast any bullets!

Actually I'm a casual shooter, and a lover of singl shots! Of course my favorites are the old Ballards, but I like all of them! I tend to lean towards Schuetzen rifles mostly, just because of their uniqueness. I have an original Schoyen Ballard (my avatar), a Stevens Schuetzen Junior, a Stevens Pope, a couple of Winchester Deluxe Sporting rifles with Swiss buttplates, and various other Remingtons, Stevens, Ballards, Aydts, Rugers, etc... If it goes bang once, and isn't a bolt action, I like it! (and the older the better!)

WOW what an awesome collection!!! I'm a single shot guy too although I do have a few of each but my primary guns are all single shots, front stuffers or suppository's. :-)
