Hey Fred M; I'm about to start trying the Rel. series of powder with this 25 06. I know you were nearly drove crazy trying to get 3/8" groups with your's,and so am I, so did any  particular show great promise. I'm using a 18 pr. scope with bipod in the front and a sand bag in the rear, and its rock steady( maybe .020 " movement in the crosshairs) I'm useing the Sierra 87 gr sp. mostly be cause they show the most promise.  Digger

Did I acidentally log on to AR15.com instead of Graybeards?

Damn.....you guys need to calm down.  I've always enjoyed reading Fred's comments.  But like anything else on the web, you've got to take everything you read with a grain of salt.

I understand what happened with your case problem. I've done the same thing....I think you've done a pretty good job for the short time you've been reloading...anyone..can make a mistake...one can only hope they learn from it...and move on...if they don't ...they probably will make it again...you learned from yours...hopefully others will too...

Keep up the Good Work... :D

I helped my neighbor work up a load with the 75 grain  Sierra HP using some Varget...it wasn't the fastest load ...but it sure would group them nicely..he could cut a dime with it at 175 yards...

If you want some heavier weights using the Reloader powder...here's Alliants web page with them on it..http://recipes.alliantpowder.com/rg.taf?_function=centerfire&step=1

Well I got around to the CCI primers, and started working with them. I was shooting at 54 yds. and the 75 gr. Vmax's shot 4 shots touching for a .412" group. It was the load that Hildy had posted earlier, but I already had Win. primers in the brass, then it was Fed. magnun match primers and everything got worse. I'm going to load somemore loads like this and make sure it wasn't a fluke.  I may bump the load up a little and see what that does also. Hildy did you try going past the 56.5 grs. of IMR 4350? I had 1 flier ( the last shot) but I fired all 5 shots fairly quickly.  Digger

That's good news, Digger....I was afraid maybe you had another Fred gun....  :-D  Some of these Handis calibers sure can be picky at what loads they like! But where would the fun be in one that shoots everything ya put it it???

Ditchdigger,

I never went past 56.5 because this is a hot load to start with and my accuracy is plenty for groundhogs and such.

Hey Hildy I went to 57 grs. and groups opened up,but primers still looked good and extraction was good also. I may try 56.2 grs. and see what happens. It was odd that it liked the cci primers so much better than the others I tried with the same powders.  Digger
