With all the latest happenings on the SASS Wire... I decided to check out some of the alternative forums that deal with CAS. I just figured I'd stop on in and say Howdy All!

Welcome to the bunkhouse.  Chow ain't much to write home about, and the pay's not great, but the company's fair to middlin'.  Glad to have you.  We were short a hand anyway.

Yeah, it does seem a lot friendlier here right from the start. The different format of the software will take a little "getting used to", but I think I can manage.  I don't hang out on the Net continuously as some do but I can always try my hand at question answering.  I've been shooting black powder since 1963 (muzzleloader and BP cartridge rifle) and I really like CAS.  A lot of folks know me by my "real" SASS alias Dakota Doc Martin, SASS #21774. But, when Chiz made me disappear a few years ago after claiming I was "commercial" due to my posts touting Big Ed's goodies... I adopted this new handle for online useage.  So as to not confuse anyone with too many aliases, I decided to just stay with the Hombre Grande name. Besides... I am somewhat huge, much like my good buddy and "brudder" Big Ed.  :)

If you all would like to take a look at my little cowboy page, here it is:
http://www.coon-n-crockett.org/cowboy.htm

I've been doing the Coon 'n Crockett Muzzleloaders website since way before Al Gore invented the Internet.  :-D   You might like to stop by there and take a look at some of my guns.  I'm pretty well proud of my custom Shiloh Sharps.  As soon as spring gets to the Northern Plains (mid-summer for most of you), I plan to get out there and shoot it some more.  I'm zeroed at 100, 200 and 300 yards.  I just need to get the 600 yard zero and I'm good to go for NRA BP paper punching.  We are also setting up for BP Metallic Silhouette so I've had a set of practice targets made to give that a try.  And, for a purely fun shooting experience, I had a set of 1/5 scale metallic silhouettes made to shoot at 1/5 the distance with my new Winchester 1885 Low Wall .22 LR.  I'm going to try to interest some of the guys in having a "long range" .22 shoot as a side match.

So, I'll stop in now and then to see how things are going.  I don't normally go into this much blither all at once so you don't have to worry about getting me started.
