T/C CUSTOMER SERVICE
« on: May 13, 2005, 10:01:23 AM »
Folks ,
I bent the hammer on my Encore by using an extension on it & installing it all the way at the top of the hammer. This happened over a peroid of time, little by little, & I never noticed it. I sent my frame back to T/c on the eighth of May. I shipped on that date, I don't know when they got it. It came back yesterday 5/12/05 , with a new hammer & a note stating that they DO NOT reccomend the use of hammer extensions but repaired my rifle FREE of charge. THAT ISN"T GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE : IT"S OUTSTANDING!!! I know there are folks who have trouble ,but this is my experience & it isn't the first time T/C has repaired/replaced an item FREE of charge.

If you look closely at an Encore hammer you see that it is hollowed out underneath. Not a very strong design. I bent one on an 11" 444 marlin with a hammer extension on it. Funny thing was that it wasn't bending as the hammer struck the frame. It was bending due to recoil. You could tell because it was bending the opposite way you would expect it too.   KN

My most recent experience with T/C customer service renewed my faith in them a little.

I lost a screw in my M/L barrel and they sent it and a couple other items to me free.

I have always had a good experience with the folks on the phone...wasn't impressed with the results of a headspace concern with the folks in the shop, but the other calls I have made to customer service were handled well.
