How accurate is your powder charge????
« on: May 14, 2005, 07:59:45 AM »
When you load for going to the Nationals and big matches,  how accurately do you make your powder charges.   In the past I have weighed every charge on my digital scale and dropped powder charges to .1 of a grain.  Very time consuming.  I have a Redding powder measure that will drop consistently +or- .1 grain ( now that I have taken it apart cleaned it up).   No better than I can shoot HP I figure this is close enough.  This speeded up loading 400 + rounds of ammo by quite a bit.  I was just wondering how others load and what kind of accuracy one can expect with + or - .2 gr of powder.  don

I use a Harrell BR thrower and have been really pleased with it, I don’t weigh any loads any more.  I don’t think .1gn  - .2 gn is going to hurt a person.  If you are using the Redding BR measure I would just throw them and save some time.
