Any suggestions as to how I might lighten the pull on the above.

By putting lighter springs in my two I brought the trigger pull down to about 2-1/2lb. If you have any creep you can carefully stone the sear surface with a hard arkansas stone.

If you send your trigger group to Brian Voelker along with a check for $65.00 it will return with a nice 12oz pull. I love mine and all my fliers went away with a good trigger pull.

I strongly suggest that the minimum pull for a rifle to be used in the field be no less than 2 1/2 pounds. Also be aware that should anyone ever be injured with a rifle with a trigger adjusted very low, you are going to have serious legal trouble. Super light weight trigger pulls should be limited to target rifles and bench guns only...

I wouldn't worry about that light pull in a hunting rifle. after all, we who also hunt with muzzle loaders have a set trigger pull measured in very few ounces. mine fires with about 6oz. triggers like this have been around for centuries. the main thing is to keep that muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

It is true that such muzzleloaders are common but they are usually not cocked until one is ready to fire. A modern rifle is always cocked.. Also very few people are capable of safely reducing the pull on a production trigger to a really light pull. the result is a trigger that works until it fails, then a lawsuit.. Plus a 2 1/2 to 3 pound trigger is manageble less can require special handling. Reduce it if you wish but be prepared to explain yourself to a jury,,,

gunnut69, thats why I had a professional do my trigger. plus I've put it through all the bump and drop tests. since I have 10 thumbs, I never attempt any work on a gun.
