6.8 SPC in a Contender Barrel

I have been reading various articles on the new Remington 6.8 SPC.  Both the parent cartridge ( .30 Remington) and the cartridge it is replacing ( .223 Rem) will work very well in a Contender but the only barrels that TC is making are for the Encore.  Will the 6.8 work in the contender and is anyone making a barrel for it?

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.

T/C offers a blue 14 inch for the Contender. Item number 4513
