jphelps,

I don't know any thing negative about the SP 101. As far as i'm concerned they are a pretty good all around handgun for home protection or CCW.
Good luck.............Joe..............

I'd hate like the dickens to be on the receiving end of anything coming out of the SP 101's barrel!

I got one for my wife several years ago.  She has the 357 with two inch barrel so I can't comment on the longer pipe, but I assume it shoots as well, or better.  At the range she is deadly at the 15 yard and under  targets.  God help anyone if she ever needs to use it.  A very quality handgun.  I would own another.

I also have an sp 101 with the 3 1/16 inch barrel. I have the factory grips, and the hogue finger groove grips plus the crimson trace grips. The hogue grips are the best for me. The C/T grips don't fit my hand very well, I think I am going to sell them.
But the revolver I love, it will take very heavy handloads and do it accurately. For home or personal protection if you can't end a problem after 5 rounds on target of 357 mag you might want to think about running!   45 north

:cb2: When my wife took her tactical firearms course, she out shot the men with her 3" SP101. It really surprised her instructor, too! It was the first centerfire handgun we bought, and we've both fired it a lot. You will need a trigger job! Other than that, I can find no fault with it. I liked the factory grip, but she wanted the Crimson Trace laser grips, and what the Queen wants, that what the Queen gets!

I've got the 32 Mag with the 3 1/16" barrel and I love it. I just bought a set of Eagle  Checkered Rosewood and Chrimson Trace grips for it. I am in the process of removing the safety warning and polishing it. When I read those threads about removing it I was like a moth to a flame.

I spent some quality time with my SP today----she's turning out to be quite the little tackdriver with the Wally World Win white box 110gn hollowpoints.
