Dumb question

On my 45-70 Handi Synthetic, do you remove the stock recoil pad to put the small Simms Slip over pad on? Didn' want to stretch it trying to slip it on..........................Thanks Guys!  :?

I did that on my wood stocked 45-70 for load work on the bench....I also added a lead filled pipe to the stock hole before I slipped the limbsaver on! :eek:

I've done it both ways.  On one shotgun I left the original recoil pad on because I needed the extra length of pull.  Normally you would remove the old recoil pad and then put on the new.  Just watch that length of pull and make sure it fits you.  If the gun becomes to long or to short from triggger to shoulder, your accuracy really can suffer.
