Wading sneakers

Years ago we used to use old worn out Converse high tops for our warm water wading shoes but they don't hold up for more than a season.  Anyone have any suggestions for a good wading shoe, prefer sneaker style, that will handle anything from slit to rocks?  Was looking at the Orvis sneaker but not sure if they will be too big if you take the sock out of it.  Really looking for something for warm water and bare feet, no socks.  Thanks.

I saw some shoes made by Tredz....something like that, that I liked, but they didn't come in size 13. Not their aqua socks, but some shoes made for getting wet, price was around mid 20's if I remember right.

They were at Academy.

Thanks John.  I'll look check them out and see how they are.  The price seems about right for them.  I looked at the Orvis and the Simms shoes but they are a little pricey for me.  Thanks alot for the info.

Teva makes some "river shoes" that offer mesh drainage. Although they dont have felt bottoms for rocky instances they seem to do the trick for me on the occasion that i wet wade.  i do get an occasional pebble inside that can be a little annoying.

Thanks again for the information.  I looked at the Teva and the Tredz and decided to get a pair of the Tredz as they were cheaper.  They should do okay for what I have in mind but they are a little low cut.  Just hope they hold up for awhile.  The only Teva's I could find were their aqua socks and they don't offer much in the way of side protection.  Really appreciate both your input.  Take care and hope you catch alot.

I would have bought a pair of the tredz myself, but couldn't find any that my big feet would go in...I thought they would be just the ticket for canoe and wading.
