Rick, your carriage making abilities make my barrel look its best! The timing for bringing this thread back is perfect. I am just finishing a multiple piece run of the "original" Backyard cannon fun" barrel, once again bringing "newcomers" to GBO. Many will go from launching firecrackers all the way to full scale.

I plan to be able by the end of the year to take larger "special orders".

Lance, This thread has been not only alot of fun for lots of us, but has addicted many to black powder, educated young ones who will become of age, all in ones "Backyard".
These little firecracker launchers will cause your cheeks to hurt from smiling, no matter what your age. I think that you should have one also. (pm sent)

well, i don't like to post three in a row, but it's been a week and a half....... Thank You! Michael. you are right this little cannon makes people smile. it's not easy at times dealing with some in the Battery. "Five full size guns out here, and you want to play with toys!"  But, this little toy can demonstrate an exploding projectile, with out too much havoc. you know how tourist and spectators want to get up close and see the action..............for what it's worth Michael, whenever i do any demo's or have some folks around, this will always be my opening gun. thanks,Lance

I'm impressed!

But do I detect a little shaking of the hand holding that cannon with the US on it?

well i did think about re-stamping it, but there is two full size "captured Union" guns in the battery. plus Capt. Earl wears an upside down U.S. Belt Plate, we just have to make do with things..............

Thanks for your comments. Lance. These little guys have been good teachers and are often the first step to "Black Powder addiction". We have referred many from other sales sites to GBO for education and related information. People often comment about how helpful everyone is here. .....and I keep learning from you guys, too   :-[ Note, the absence of  a US stamp on our M-BPFC firecracker launchers currently in process!

Following are pics of the cannon designed to entice a brand new group of aficionados

hey Michael, don't drop the U.S. stamp on something i said. it don't bother me one little bit at all, i was just funnin with Tim. like i wrote we can always call them "captured"............ i was mainly letting you know that i think so much of it, that i'll always tell folks where to get one. and believe me i come in contact with alot of folks.you would not believe just how many folks turn out for a Civil War event down here in Virginia.the U.S. stamp is staying on mine, that's just the way i captured it..........

If I saw a supposed "Brooks Barrel" with no "US" stamp on it, I might think that Chinese have started mass producing them to steal the market share.  ;)

Sorry.

There is NO cure.

You'r only hope is to enjoy the symptoms.  You might want to look for wholesale sources of powder and fuse.

would both really be a problem  :o :o :o ::) ::) ::) :o :o :o
These are just too much fun, and I don't have to wait for the range to open on Saturday to fire them, like my "more conventional" firearms, either. jb and Michael are very helpful at www.brooks-usa.com l. Made in the USA is one of my biggest draws.

ps: they didn't pay me for that plug LOL

NO problem either way!

I try to define or put images into definitions.  This one may qualiify for the category of "having too much fun".  As an engineer at work answered me when I asked if he'd ever had too much fun, "I once pulled a muscle in my back from laughing too hard."

There are MANY more.

Well I have wondering the internet and even found the last page. It has been awhile since I have been here and found my favorite post. But I noticed on the first thread the video is missing. So I am going to repost it. I will have to warn you I am a qualified expert with a Brooksusa MPFC. That shot hit and detontaed right on a wood pile 20 yards away and I defy anybody who can do better Just living targets are a definte NO-GO if you try that you should get your butt kicked.. But for anybody who hasn't seen this shot it is a must see what these little MPFC firecrackers can do.

This thread has been dead, I guess I am trying to spring some life into it again. No MOAB please. Just small cannon that are capable to shoot in a backyard with common sense please. I figure I will show my newest creation. In the finished shot I will put the can of Goex. Sorry I forgot this time It is a M-BPFC on a field carraige. in the making. In the future I plan on building one with a split carraige.  I am hoping the Irishman will see this post and hopefully offer some raw barrels for those who wish to create their own carraige. Using a little creativity

Ray,

Your creative carriages have always been notable. Thank you, Ray, for bringing this thread back to "front and center".  Just a few days ago, we listed the M-BPFC complete and, also "raw", barrel only on the "GBO CLASSIFIED" section.

The GBO CLASSIFIED section is important to all sponsors and members!  It has the ingredients to be a “one stop shop”, offering free flow information, history, feedback, event info, safety and then more safety to name a few. There are many places to buy and sell black powder mortars and cannon, but none that have the quality “ingredients” that are found here. Every GBO Sponsor is producing superb quality.

E-bay, the largest, for many who build barrels is an interesting study. Yes, I sell there, maybe 11 cannon listed today, have in excess of 1100 transactions,  many of those, repeat barrel customers.

After the “sunset” of the Assault Weapon Ban, several years ago, they restricted sales of anything related to “black powder, boom, bang, shoot and a continuous changing of banned keywords in the description. We, (I and competitors) were delisted and informed that Ebay didn’t recognize the sunset of the assault weapon Ban.

In light of the United States Supreme Court, just this week, announced, that, yes, indeed, it is what it says it is: what if, Ebay bolts. What internet forum has the ingredients to step up and be the “one stop shop”.

Rich

Ammended post :
I got it., I got it., I got it.  I was getting a pretty good pop from the cannon and no secondary report from the firecracker.  After re-reading the instructions it works. Imagine that ? If you follow instructions no problem.   :o   I used a  little less powder ., and not 3f ., but 2f (Like the instruction says too ) .  And there it was ! The 2nd report. Awesome Thank You again Michael..., yea these are fun !!!   ;D

What is, "You Win a Kewpie Doll" and "retroactive" You Win A Kewpie Doll?  How does one win a "Kewpie Doll"? Who awards them? ??? I notice them every-so-often.

Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
