Feels nice being missed thanks. While I was told my hand would never be the same. I had them fooled. It is pretty much 100% No stiffness, pain and a full range of movement of all my fingers. It had to do with a lot of therapy of things I enjoyed like kayaking and riding my Hog. I do have a tendency of putting a lot of "irons in the fire" and have projects of all shapes and sizes. And I am so far behind I am not sure where to start. I missed everybody on the board also. and need to play catch up.....And a Merry Christmas or a Happy Hannakau (please forgive me is I mispelt that) to everyone here on the board

Ray,

It's great to see you back! BYCF has been a long and wild ride. The journey is not over. You have been responsible for attracting many hundreds to this great endevour. I think you'll hit 32,000 before Santa gets here.

It is pretty much 100%.

Good to hear.  Probably the return on the investment in rehab.

Ray --

Good to hear.  You were the first person I thought of on the October 16th event.  (Even if it was thinking "boy! I got off lucky compared to...")

I'm at the stage of building up strength - a few odd little twinges every day in different places.  Full function, no nerve nor tenden damage.

Some folks refer to it as a 'Kaboom'.   ;D

All in all, considering the greater scheme of life and what could have happened and didn't, it was a GOOD day!  ;D

Ouch sounds like we are both very lucky. I am guessing the M1917 was manufactured by Eddystone. They are the ones that tend to go kaboom

It was a Winchester.  But the 'idot' that owned it before me simply hammered the firing pin into the cocking piece - instead of turning it 90 degrees inserting it and turning it 90 degrees thus engaging the 4 lugs.  Friction fit.  Which worked for 5 yrs and two shooting sessions.

Now thats a doulble ouch, Your hand and trashing a Winchester. Well its better your hand survives than the rifle. I had a Remington and the bolt was a pain in the butt.

P17 not trashed.  Need only a few small parts and it will shoot again.

NOW back to cannons!   ;D

And, thanks all for your concern!

Just might do that.  After all she has her own rifles, shotgun, and two handguns.   ::)

Keith44,

Great! I hope that she has a concealed weapons license to help her get home safely, every day, also.

rays89, it's really good to see you back here on the forum!  ;D  Glad your back to 100%! Lots of projects backed up, but maybe you'll get a chance to start on the Myrtlewood carriage, after all, that wood has aged quite a bit since you received it! I know your just enjoying life right now, and you'll get to it when you are ready...BoomLover

Boomlover,

Ray hasn't been on here as much as before. Rumor has it that he has been hanging out with Joe Cocker instead of shooting cannon.

As in the singer? That is a bit of a tangent from cannons! Still, good to hear he is doing so much better!
