Anybody know if a Win mod 92 stock will fit a Rossi Puma?
« on: May 21, 2005, 02:19:07 PM »
Or alternately anybody know what will fit a Rossi? How close is a Win 1894 stock? or...?

I know I can have one made, but I'm trying to do it on the cheap for now!

Thanks

Kerry

Not even close! It would take some serious filling and modifying, might as well start frum scratch.

Cuts Crooked, do you mean a Win 92 stock or a Win 94 stock would need all that fillin' and modifyin' to fit a Rossi?

Sorry! I meant a 94 stock   The tangs are completely different. Even from one Rossi to another one can run into considerable "fitting" that needs to be done on a stock swap.

If it were me, I'd start frum scratch. But then I've done a little stock makin' in my day. I've considered restocking my old .357 Rossi with a nice cherry wood set, but ain't got the ambition thse days. :?

Howdy!

I'd check with Precision Woodworking in Kerrville, Texas (their name might really be Precision Rifle Stocks or a variant on that) and Boyd's Gunstocks in South Dakota.  www.boydboys.com

Either or both might be able to help you.
