Evening.
Finally got around to shooting the B.C. After having it for 6 months or so. (been playing with the Marlin 1895). I cleaned it up good as per this forum. Did nothing else. Lee Mold 405 grain. Wheel weights dropping at 409 grains. 24 grains of 5744. WLR-primers, Starline Brass. Pan lubbed bullets with Lee Alox. Bullet seated to 2.574".
After getting it on paper at 50 yards tried to shoot a three shot group with the rifle rested on the bags. measured .803". Moved out to 100 yds. readjusted rear sight and tried again. 2" bull with front sight insert from factory was almost impossible for my eyes. Measured just a shade under 3inches. Will try another front sight insert next time.
For just out of the box shooting I was impressed with this rifle. Will try the "o" ring trick, floating the barrel and a little trigger work next. For the money you can't beat this rifle.
Rich.
