Well I had mine out on Saturday... he he he.... Put 120 rounds through it.... 100 45 Colts - 50 cowboy loads, and 50 moderate loads (250 gr. ~ 900 fps. 425 ft lbs - and 20 moderate 454 Casull loads (Winchester 250 Gr. loads of a little over 1000 ft. lbs of energy, similar to a hot 45 +P really). Summary would be forget the cowboy loads, you can definitely go hotter without discomfort. The 454's were actually quite enjoyable, with the gun recoiling over my head on each shot... he he he... Not plinkers, for sure, but a "blast" nonetheless. Of course the heavy 454's go 50 to 80% more energy, definitely a whole new category.... I still hope I'll never have to pull the trigger on one of them.... but I figure if it's a choice between gettin' eaten or a sore/broken wrist, kaboom it is...
Cheers !!!
P.S. I paid $569 at Sportsmen's Warehouse in Reno, NV.
