Just had a new police barrel installed on a 700 action. Was wondering what the twist rate is for this barrel , wanted to work up a good target load.Wanted to load up some seirra 168 gr hp match bullets. Is this a good bullet for the twist. Thanks

Hi
I have no idea what the twist is...But it will love 168's!!!! 42 grs. IMR4046 should be close.
Get it bedded, a recoil pad, the trigger adjusted and work the brass a little.
You will love it!!!

Jimann, are you talking about IMR 4064. Just looked in my reloading manuals and none of them say anything about IMR 4046. Just checking

My speer #13 ... page 283 IMR 4064 42grs. to 46grs. This is for a 308!!! I just looked and IMR 4064 is OK for 7mm 08. My 308 loves IMR 4064 with 168'sand 190's. I wore out one barrel and I'm usig the same load in the new barrel.
