i have hunted with a longbow exclusively now for five years.  due to my kids being young, and me having bought a blind (so i can take the kids along to hide their movement) i have recently bought a short axle bow.

i agree that getting too high tech aint good.  many get to wrapped up in the gadget of it and forget all about the hunt and personal skills.

the same is true for many traditionalists.  they think that their path is the righteous one and they are the only ones who can appreciate the hunt.   many can not resist taking jabs at those who do not walk their path.   it gets to the point where it is just as disgusting as the gadget mongers.

i have had enough of both types of these nit wits.  i walk my own path and they all can live their little fantasy.   i need not be accepted by either camp.

i do think that this bow is the next significant step forward in modern bows (technologically speaking),  if it is  accepted.

Myronman, I like your philosophy. Right now I have a traditional itch I have to scratch, but I'm not getting rid of my compounds either.

Sounds like something said by somebody paid to say it. Barnsdale is a world class archer. 289 out of 300 is pretty pour shooting.

My thoughts on this bow, FWIW....
It's amazing how much of that old "sweet shooting feel" most guys will sacrifice for some extra performance. The best shooting, quietest compounds I ever shot were around 45" axle to axle, had wheels and shot around 240 fps.
Those were the days. :(

Barnsdale lives in my town.  He is a very good shooter and owns his own limb making business.  This guy shoots not just the 20 yd ring targets but also the outdoor shoots (0-80yds).  He shoots all bows, including traditional/target recurve.

But to me this bow is ugly as sin.  I cannot believe that with the hand position that it is not very critical to shoot magnifying any hand wiggle etc...

I shoot mostly compound but I too am an advocate of the longer limb bows.  Mine is 42".

Bottom line is people have to keep changing things for people to think they need to buy new bows.  Unlike rifles, why have multiple bows.  After all they do not come in different calibers etc...

seems to me that this bow looks to fill in a gap between compound and crossbow if their claims are accurate.  often in advertising they aren't.  but whatever floats your boat i guess....im still stuck with my old darton and two recurves.....not that i dont think lots of the new bows would be awesome to have.....the ones i got kill too many deer for me to be justified in getting a "different" bow.  i guess if one is in the market for a new bow, one oughta try all the bows to get the best shooting most comfortable bow.
