Picked up my new STI Trojan this last week. Have not had/taken the opportunity to shoot it yet but I am pretty impressed with the appearance and fit.
I took a day trip to Austin (Georgetown, actually) a couple of months ago and went to the factory. Did not do a tour but was able to see the weapons and some of the manufacturing process. It was pretty good, and I liked the fact that there was a lots of hands-on work being done during assembly.
Anywho, then went up the road to Dawson Precision and ordered the weapon. Paul treated me well and I was pretty impressed with the ability to access the personnel at Dawsons. They respond well to both E-mails and phone calls.
Paul shared some thought, gave advice and is very impressive while being a good old boy. He was not eaten up with himself and was concerned with the ordering process without being pushy.
I have the weapon now and will be taking it down for the first time soon. This may not be a big deal to you folks but this is the first 1911 I have owned and it certainly is more complicated than my Sigs, Walthers, and such.
I may be calling for help when I get stuck.
Blessings
