I don't shoot my huntsman much anymore, because I have it set up for hunting.... my main focus. When I was working up loads, I shot a lot of Hornady roundball .490, with 777, 70 - 90gr. Very cheap and accurate
out to 100yds. (.10 lubed pillow ticking). I now average 1 or 2 shots a year, depending on the number of deer I choose to shoot. My best success
hunting is 90gr of 777, 295gr hollow point powerbelt.
I would caution anybody to clean the breech plug after 6 shots. Why NEF doesn't come up with a simple socket type breech plug removal system, is beyond me. Regardless this is the most accurate muzzleloader I have shot!

dispatch 510,

The scope rail including the offset hammer spur is $18.00 from the H&R/NEF store plus about $5 shipping. You will want this rail, it has 5 cross slots as compared to the Weaver only having 2. It don't get much cheaper than round balls for plinkers, but you may have to keep your powder charges on the low side. The T/C Cheap Shots are another lower priced saboted lead bullet that are about $5-$6 for about 30.

dispatch 510, I like to use the T/C Mag sabot and 240 grain XTP bullet they are not to expense. This year for the hunt I will use the 250 grain T/C ShockWave, just for reminders try and loosen your breech plug after ever fifth shot 8)
