Status of DW revolvers @ CZ

I contacted DW/CZ customer service via email for some parts.  Thought the rest fo you DW fans would be interested in the response I received today.  I posted the entire message for context:

Hello Michael.  I'm sorry the grips are not available at this time.  We were recently acquired by CZ-USA.  We are currently not making revolvers.  We  will be starting up production again probly within a few months.  We are out of the target style grips.  The only grips we have in stock are the Hoag fingergrooved grips.  The front sight is $13.00.  The .285 ht., .125 wdth.  Shipping charges are $3.00 regular mail.  We accept Mastercard, Visa, and money orders payable to CZ-USA.  Thank you for contacting Dan Wesson Firearms.

At least there is an assurance of production starting again.  I'd like to get a stainless "twin" for my blued model 15 eventually, and access to parts and service would be a bonus.  I responded, suggesting that once they start production again, they might want to look into the compact revolver business, since CCW is the hot market today.  Probably won't happen, but a guy can dream.  I know I would buy a 5 shot DW .357 with 2,3, and 4 inch barrels, especially if they could get the frame size down to say, an SP101.

Why did they stop revovler production at all?  You don't shut donw the operation just because there is a take over or buy up.

I believe that other than an initial production run of revolvers when the Norwich plant opened, the revolver production in the past couple years has been on a "as ordered" basis, the recent production line has been concentrated on the 1911 lines. That is partly why the prices (and quality)of the new revolvers had increased so much over previous production. They were basically "custom shop special orders".
 Hopefully CZ will follow through and resume regular production as promised.

What El Hombre says makes sense, especially if one considers how DW was auctioning off a bunch of demo/display/prototype revolvers on Gunbroker last year, as well as selling them direct through their website (which is how I got my current one), as if in preparation for the big sale to CZ.  I would be nice to see them capture a bigger share of the market, since IMO the quality of the product is superior, not to mention the versatility.  I believe a smaller frame model added to the product line would help.  CZ seems to have an aggressive marketing dept., so that can't hurt either.

I hope I am wrong. I just sence Dan Wesson Revolvers are to pass into production History. I just feel it. No proof or inside info. I think they may concentrate on the 1911 type pistol.. Hope the force is not corrrect! Maybe there will be a year or so run but that may be it. so sad.

I hope they get with it and keep the revolvers, I have doubt though. I posted a question on the Dan Wesson board of the CZ website. My Question was How come it says that there is 20 posts but you can not see any of them. My post today has been erased with the rest.

Originally when I visited the site the first post on the board talked about making Dan Wesson's thier premier revolvers. It sounded great but now that all proof has been erased it makes you wonder.
