« on: May 31, 2005, 12:35:34 PM »
I was reading thru some of the old post about shooting a 457 roundball out of a sabot, thought this might be a good plinking combination. any thoughts on this as far as what powder charges and what kind of sabots to use, will be shooting them out of a beartooth mag that i dont hunt with any more.thanks in advance for any info.

I shoot .490 round balls in Hornady plastic patches
made for the RB's.70-80 grns. of T7 shoots them
pretty well.Inexpensive plinking if you can get a
good deal on the plastic patches.I bought 20 bags
of 50 really cheap on a closeout deal

I think they were discontinued since many manufacturers warned against them. Closest you can get now is Hornady hard ball ammo I think.
