I see on the Winchester web page that their Model 94 Legacy round 26"' barrel in 38 55, the twist rate is 1 turn in 15 inches and the Model 94 Trails End Hunter Round 20" barrel in 38 55 the twist rate is one turn in 26 inches. I do not believe that both rates can be optimum for the Winchester factory round that Winchester produces. Can anyone explain what the slower twist does and any guesses why Winchester would make two different twist rates. I want to buy one of these rifles but I don't understand why the twist rates are different. Which would be better with the Winchester factory 255 grain softpoint ? Any Idea's ?
