David White built 6mm-284 XP-100

David White built a 6mm-284 XP-100 for me. It is a tight-neck chamber set-up for Winchester 284 Win. brass. Used a SS Broughton 1-8 twist 5C 18 inch barrel (close to sporter taper-No brake). David rebedded my H-S stock. So far with load development not yet fully done I have shot a .335 group @ 100 yards with the 115 DTAC bullet & H-4831SC. I used this same bullet and load for the SHOTS shooting for both field and bench. Even on the bench I used my Harris Bi-Pod. It was my favorite SP to shoot for the seminar. It sports a Ken Farrel picatinny base that has 20 minutes built into it with 30mm Burris Signature Zee Rings. Scope is a Burris 6-24 Black Diamond with the Ballistic Mil-Dot Reticle (side focus paralax adjustment). All I can say is that this rig shoots like a house of fire (and this is even with non-fire formed loads). The neck tension with non-fire formed loads is very inconsistent and hard whereas with fired round the bullet seats smoothly every time. I can't wait to see what it will do once everything is just right. One shot hits out to 700 yards were consistent if I doped the wind correctly. I didn't shoot it at 1k for group, but I plan to use this for the one mile shoot in July. MV with the 115 DTAC is 2720 fps.
David has been slammed several times with his claims of accuracy that he could get with SP's at LR.
The way this one is shooting so far I think I could put it up against anyones SP and feel confident I would not be embarrassed.
It did begin to get some inconsistent accuracy after 60 rounds through it with no cleaning, if you want to call that a negative.
I was like a little boy at Christmas shooting this SP--Thanks David!

I have long debated a rig something like yours. I would like to be able to put it in a backpack for winter ski touring and hunting predators. Be a nice ultralight for summer backpack hunting too. Congrats, very nice rig. There is another fella who goes by sscoyote over on longrangehunting.com that shoots a 6.5-284 similar to yours. He has taken a coyote at 970 yds, and a big horn ram at around 330 last year. If you look him up, tell him cobrad sent ya.

Sscoyote is my hunting and shooting buddy.  In fact he got that 6.5 barreled action from me.
Shoot me an e-mail: ernie33@sbcglobal.net and will give you some more details the 6-284 and other LR SP's that sscoyote and me are playing with.  That is, if you are interested.
