We went out with a bang.....
« on: June 06, 2005, 04:53:45 PM »
Or a BOOM if you prefer.

We were chased out of the last field tonight by a thunder storm.  Not too bad of one, but high winds, rain, lightening and thunder.

I don't have time to go into depth about the trip now.  I'll do that tomorow when I have more time.  But I'll just say that the trip was a raging sucess.  Everyone had a blast......literally.  And as long as everyone had fun, then it was a huge sucess from my point of view.

I'd like to give a great big HOOAH to my last three salty, hard core shooters that kept shooting till the very end.  I had four this morning, but three finished out the day with me.  One was feeling a little under the weather, and I understand.  That sun is brutal.

Thanks guys.  I had a lot of fun with you.  I'm looking forward to next year........

I'm already thinking of ways to make the next one better.

Even if they do one in MOntana, I'm still going to have one here.

Well I've tried to post a new topic here twice and both times it got fried in my computer. I would like to say that Wes.....you're alright in my books buddy. I look forward to some more hunts with you in the near future. You and the group of your friends that helped make this a success are to be commended. A big thanks to Dan for the hospitality shown me and Digger by him and his family and for letting us park the camper on his property.
P-Dogs next year.....you bet....count me in. Maybe I'll have worked on the finer virtues af accuracy shooting a little more by then   . Certainly found out that both my gun and yours are capable of better shots than I can make with them. Oh well, I had a GREAT time just the same and got my share of the little critters anyway.
Thanks to Graybeard for his role in helping this come together and for such a great site that we can all call home.
To meet everyone and put faces with names and to put personalities with posts was certainly something I'll remember. A finer bunch of guys I hope never to meet and hang out with than the group I was with this weekend (Digger included  :) ) I look forward to next year.

Wes; Sorry we could'nt stay another day,but I have a lot of work to catch up on. You done a very fine job and it was some great memories for all of us.  I'll be a little better prepared next time and have a lot more ammo loaded( The little 17 miss's you and Dan) I may order one of those 204's also. I also picked up another Ruger 77 in 220 Swift today and I hope it shoots as well as my other one.    Many many many thanks Wes. Digger

I had a good time taking you guys, and I know that the people who helped me enjoyed you too.

Lik2hunt, next year, pick up a front and rear bag instead of using what you were and I promise you'll hit more dogs

Prolly cuz yer too long winded. Sessions last only 20 minutes. If you wait longer before moving data you get timed out. When typing a long one I open two windows and move data in one to keep the session live while just typing in the other.

This old fat boy can't take much sun or heat. Thus my shooting was confined to the mornings only before it heated up and the sun got so high. I likely shot less than anyone else but I didn't get over heated or sunburned so I did good. Except on Saturday I was able to shoot until I figured it time to take a nap. Gotta keep them priorities in line and a nap is up there real high on my daily priority list.  :) [/quote]
