7.62x39, Large Primer/Small Primer?
« on: June 07, 2005, 06:43:52 AM »
I don't know where else to post this, so I will try it here. 7.62x39 is unusual, it is one of the only cartridges that I have brass for with both Large & Small primers. I have always wondered about the pros and cons. Does anyone have any thoughts on what would be the advantage or disadvantage of 'one or the other'? All of the data I have in manuals lists Large Rifle Primers.
What benefits, if any, would I get from using the brass with Small Rifle Primers?
....make it count

Remington makes theirs with the small primer so it will use the same primer as the 223 Remington. All the rest that I have seen use large primers.

The next time you order 100,000 primers, the shipping charges on small primers will be less than the shipping charges on large primers.
