Tom:  I'm not familiar with the advanced tech scope mount but I have scoped two SMLEs, both with the inexpensive no-gunsmithing scope base that replaces the rear sight on the #4 and they have both worked like a charm. You see the add for them usually in the Shotgun News when they advertise the different models of SMLEs and offer sporter stocks and scope bases.  They are available for the Mk1 #3 as well as the #4 Mk1.  The base calls for a set screw to be tightened against the inside of the action and I have found that if you dimple the area where the screw tightens against the action they become rock solid.  Using those bases I have had no problems bringing the crosshairs on either of the two scopes to poa at 100 m.

HTH.  Mikey.

if it's not a collector, or if you just don't care, you could drill and tap it for a Weaver TO-1 base.

First since the scope ranout of adjustment is it parallel to the guns bore?? My second thing is some of these scopes have very close adjustments or should i say not enough adjustment.  I had to switch some scopes out to others that had more room adjustment and it worked out ok.  BB
